I'm putting on new head stock bearings. The old ones that came out of the frame are the same size as each other and look like this:
![]() The new bearings are tapered bearings. I ordered a kit for the bike but the bearings are different sizes to each other. One is the same as the standard size but one is smaller: ![]() Have I been given the wrong bearings? |

nope, ask YC hes fitted taper rollers to my black SV. The originals had roller ball bearings, and the replacements are tapered. They are much better apparently. I'm pretty sure that the ones he put in mine were different sizes to each other
he'll be along shortly to put me in my place

I'm fairly sure the bearings are different sizes.
Edit: on the curvy, no idea about the pointy.

I don't understand how it works then, cos it is way too small to fit

Yours pointy?
I seem to remember the late gsxr yokes being a direct drop-in replacement on the pointy, the gsxr srad used same bottom bearing as the curvy with another as the top bearing too. Maybe they've sent you the curvy fitment.
