I have just this hour received a new pair of Oxtar TCS boots going from a touring style boot to the TCS boots is giving me a real problem as the souls are rigid and the toes on them are like buckets the only way I can change gear is at a sharp angle very uncomfortable for someone that’s 6ft tall and not confidence inspiring at all.
Can the SV gear lever be adjusted or do i have to ebay my one day old boots? |

Yes it can be adjusted. Have a look at the linkage from the gear lever to the gear selector (thingy)
Undo the lock nuts at either end and turn the linkage. This will raise and lower the gear lever. |

By the by, one of the nuts is reverse threaded.....confused me at first but that's not difficult!
I've got the same boots and moving the gear lever made things a lot comfier. I lowered the rear brake lever a bit too for the same reason. |

Ive had the exact problem recently. TCX boots, couldn't change the gear very well at all. Pretty much had to take my foot off the peg to get it under. I adjusted the gear lever up, which helped a lot, but also the boots have broken in more now (i've had them 1 week) and are a lot more comfortable and agile.

I've got these TCX boots and think they're the muts nuts! Completely waterproof and loads of support.
Not to hard to change gear etc but they have mashed up my heel plate BIG time! ![]() |

Guys what do you think of there sizing i ordered a size 11 (46) and its massivly to big i am going to try again with the above boot but as a size 10.5 (45) or possibly a 9.5 (44). I am 99% always a size 11 but the oxtars seem massive.

i have a pair of oxtars in size 12 and found them a real problem at first too, one they broke in though they are brilliant, really warm and comfy on a long run. they are a little bigger round the foot than normal shoes but i wear ski socks when im out and they fit pretty well now.
had to move the gear shifter up a quarter inch too but i moved it back once the ankle had softened. had to coat the ankle supports in furniture polish to stop them sqeeking i sounded like robocop! |

They're cheaper than the shops and you get a free rucksack and/or cargo net. I'm a UK 9 shoe size so went for the Euro 43...they felt tight at first so I called them up and they sent a 44 (UK 9.5) foc for me to try on the premise that I'd just send 1 pair back. The 9.5 was definitely too big so I stuck with the 9's and they have broken in really well. Out of all the gear I bought, the boots are definitely my favourite! ![]() P.S. Am I right in thinking TCX are in fact Oxtars but rebadged cos they were infringing some copyright or other?? It seems that Oxtars are quite cheap now in comparison to the new TCX. |
