Why do I have no luck with TVs?

SO I got a replacement off ebay, that worked for a week, before it suddenly went off last night & won't come on again. As if it's got no power, not even the power switch lights up. I replaced the fuse, but no better & it does kinda make some kind of noise when I switch it on/.
SO I went to get my spare old little TV. I had stored my first TV next to this one & I think the magnet in the speaker has f***ed the screen. Red appears blue & Blue appears green Can I Degauze the screen ? I don't have a remote or manual for this TV but it does have a menu button.

why don't you just give up telly?

I thought that CRTs did that when you turned them on.

I wouldn't worry. We're awaiting delivery of out 6thLCD this year! They even threw in a Blueray player to apologise for the problems

Sounds to me like a power transformer issue. Find one of those old small TV shops that are scattered around, they should be able to fix it for £50 or so.

Could be worse, our TV went AWOL recently, and that was the LCD controller (very blurred picture & sound worked OK). It would of cost more to repair than buy a new TV! It was a good excuse to upgrade the TV though I suppose.

For degaussing you need a really powerful magnet - hand held - wipe it across the screen gently - doesn't work every time. Also, it's only a quick fix...normally...i.e. not permanent.

And as for no luck with TV's, have you tried a different aftershave, or maybe waxing your legs.

A friend had similar issues with TVs going bang It was the wiring to his wall socket as the place was quite ooooooold
