Default Rear tyre damage?

Quickly checked over the tyres this morning before leaving for work. Rolled the bike forward from where it had been stood all night and on the rear tyre there was an area, just to the left side of the middle of the tread (if you're looking at the bike from the back) that looked almost as if it had been melted.

I checked over the rest of it and it looked OK and when I got to work I tried checking over again but couldn't see anything (dim light + no paddock stands etc).

Could it be that what I saw was just an imprint of where the tyre has been sat on the driveway over night? The bikes only 4 weeks old so I wouldn't have expected any damage just yet.

Was it wet when you parked it?
Then in the morning when you shifted it the bit that was on the ground would be the only wet bit ( as well as one at the front )

When I parked it last night, it was raining and I just threw the cover over and left it.

This morning I rolled it forward and had a quick check of the tires, I told myself that the 'scarring' was probably just where it had been sat on the block paving (rough surface not smooth). Although it did look pretty deep i.e. at least 1mm so I wasn't sure if the weight of the bike would put an imprint in the tyre overnight and admittedly didn't see anything on the front tyre.
