puting a new set of pads along woth my gsxr front end
was wondering what the difference was with GG and HH.. would the GG cope with braking at 120mph? would the HH cope with light town use? its mainly town use and to be honest i dont have the bottle to do 120mph everywhere anymore. i heard that the GG are kinder to discs? |

I used to use EBC green (GG) pads on my Bandit 600. They were perfectly capable of stopping the bike (up to and including tidy laps of brands hatch Indy). They were also cheap which was important at the time.
What they did lack was a feeling of initial bite. the power was there but they came in rather gently. Some people would consider this a nice thing, other people prefer a pad that's a bit grabbier. Bottom line, they'll be fine, even on track, but they may not feel as sharp as some of the more aggressive pads. Lozzo, I believe used to work for vesrah, and rates their pads as being a good compromise (and often used as OE). Jambo

It is a personal preference on what pads you will prefer, me I like 'EBC HH' but others on here do not.

What size of discs, and what calipers, are you using? I found that HH on 320mm discs can be a bit unsubtle and abrupt... I used 2 different 320mm disc setups (GSXR thou K6 radials, and GSXR750 K2 axials) and found that with HH they were just a bit much- great on track, but on a slithery winter commute they needed more care than I liked.
So I fitted Carbon Lorraine A3+ pads, which I loved- they're nothing like as powerful as an HH but frankly, it's irrelevant, they still have more than enough power for the street or intermediate trackdays. They were a bit fadey on track though. But on the road, very nice, they have much less initial bite and a very linear grip so you can have just a feather touch on the brakes, or still pile it on fast if you want. Modulating the brakes was much easier, it really flattered my abilities.

the pads are for a GSXR 1000 k2 setup which have 320mm discs and 6 pots with oem brake pipes, was thinking of going with ebc green or sbs sintered. its 20 years since i've had a bike and the choise is a bit confusing now ... lol
heard good things about the sbs pads. |

Ooh. Yeah, I'd not put HH in those myself, they're fairly unsubtle at the best of times. The OEM pads seem good for those actually. The calipers need a fair amount of TLC, if you don't keep them in good order you'll get uneven braking. I don't like 'em, I had them on mine for a couple of weeks and a couple of mates use them (because 6 is more than 4 I think) but for me they're heavy, overcomplicated and not all that good, they have a ton of power but then the 4-pots have more than enough, with better usability.
Ah, that was a bit of an unplanned rant. If I was you, I'd sell them and fit the 4-pots off the Y-K3 750 instead, but that's just my opinion so take it as you will ![]()

will do when funds permit .. but at mo i'm stuck with them.. this conversion is getting rather pricey.. the 6 pots have been striped and greased up. and i think they were off a lowish milage bike (origonal front tyre and pads tyre has about 1.5mm till markers pads have 2mm left on them) discs are like new.

I sold mine for more than the 4s so it worked out quite nicely... Streetfighter builders always want the 6 pots it seems. But yeah, this is the sort of thing you can waste a lot of time and money on. Did they come with pads?
