This won't mean much to most of you, but just had to share.

What a f^&%&ing day.

Should have been in court today with my daughter to give evidence against her ex, who smashed her car up, hit her and threatened me. Couldn't be there as I had to be in Birmingham working for most of this week however the case was still heard.

Phoned MrsMatt at about 2:30 to see how it went, he was found guilty - sentencing is next month. Felt really good about that, and went back to my meeting.

Meeting finished at 5pm, had an answerphone message from my brother left at about 3 o'clock to call him urgently. Eventually got hold of him.

He was phoning to say my step dad died at 2:30 this afternoon. Saw him at the weekend, knew it was the last time so said my goodbyes then.

Now stuck on my own in a f(*^*&^ng hotel in ****ty Birmingham until Thursday - which is also MrstMatt's birthday.

Been to the gym for an hour, got back and think reality has just kicked in.

Sounds like you need your family and friends right now, if I was you I would just head home you've got bloody good reason too matey.

Cheers guys - no issue at all with me going home, however not sure that i am really up for the 2 1/2 hour drive tonight. Think I am probably better off at work tomorrow up here as it will keep me busy, just need to see how things go. If things get sh!tty at work then I can either come back to the hotel and chillout for a bit, or just head back home.

My other brother is with my little bro (he is only 22) and my mum so at least they have someone with them tonight and tomorrow
