I think generally not. A bit of searching dragged up this thread here

velocity stacks is another name for them. i seem to remember i asked this question a while back and the general responce was that you get too much air flow apparently.

Not really...

Velocity stack, changes intake resonance, can give power in certain parts of rev range. Fitted onto carb inside airbox.

Pod filter.

The problem found is that because the pod filters flow quite well, and very differently to standard with airbox, to make the CV carbs work right, you need to change air jets and all sorts of stuff.

P.s you saw dappa D's thread on rejetting for a filter... well this is like that, only no bugger has done it, or knows exactly how to.

PS if your planning on running your bike in the rain I don't think you should do it. Airfilter + water on airfilter don't work. Unless I'm wrong?

I guess I'll get my self a BMC race instead. DangerousDave thinks mine is a BMC road.
Where's a good/cheapest place ? an RS preferably if I can track one down.

yorkie chris, i was refering to boo86 origional post of bell mouth/trumpets (velocity stakcs), i should have been a bit more clear.
as stated, probably best off with going for a race filter, and changing the jets.

Yep i'm currently running a set of velocity stacks from factory pro on my pointy, i have the 35/70 set which helps mid range. Along with a bmc air filter and m4 system she's knocking out 72bhp at the rear oon a dyna pro dyno.

I've been trying to convince factory pro that they should make a set for the carbed model, no luck yet. Mine has the renegade stacks but I really have no idea if they do anything good, lets just say the R&D on the rest of the airkit left a bit to be desired

As for pods... Again, Factory Pro do a pod-and-jetkit setup, it's not cheap but it'll make it simpler. I did have some good starting point instructions from TWF at one point but I've lost them, suffice to say it's not just jetting, he also mentioned drilling out the air jet and I think possibly changing the float level too.
