Default FLASH FLASH...Q for the police people

ill try and explain as best i can....

on the way to work this morning i had my picture taken, dont think it was my best side tho

i take the same route every day. i came off the M32 in Bristol at J3, up to the roundabout, lights were on green so carried straight through and left on to the A4320. the weather was diabolical. it was 1.45am, raining hard and standing water on the road. as you come off the roundabout, 150-200 yards further on is a set of traffic lights at a major junction, speed limit is 50. as i approached the lights they turned to amber so i applied the brakes, both back and front, but by the time i stopped my front wheel had crossed the white line and the camera behind me flashed twice in succesion. my left foot was off the bike ready to support me when i stopped, pushed myself back and it flashed again. i consider myself pretty on the ball with observations and braking in emergency, its hapened often enough. i drive for a living so im not a loon when it comes to the bike.

the first pic will have me with brake lights on and foot off the bike, second pic should have me with foot on the floor. i know i wasnt speeding, tbh i was doing somewhere between 42-45. its really pi$$ed me off because in 20 years of driving/riding ive still got a clean license,of which im quite proud of. if i had braked any harder in those conditions i could have slid and come off.

will i get done for it?
if so do you know what it will/could be?
can i appeal?
would it be worth appealing?

think that about covers it and again sorry for the carp explanation

cheers maff

You can do nothing until you get the nip if and when you do, request the evidence (photos). They will show that you crossed the line, but then you can argue your case that not to do so would have caused an accident considering the conditions etc. and that in fact you didn't proceed acrross the junction, all of which the photos should show.

So let me get this straight.
You were doing 42-45 mph at the time the Red light camera flashed and you still stopped in time at the white line?

In the wet

so please correct me where I've gone wrong. If you stopped at the line (or close enough?) should be absolutely fine. That's why there's a 2nd flash - to see if you ran the light or just edged over.

You've got a clean license, you can relax a bit! I've got 9 and a flash would cost me my license, I live in permanent fear. Sounds like you would have a resonable defence in court.

OK read again. You set of the red light camera twice just rolling about at the red light. Both times will prove you did not run the red light.
You have nothing to worry about IMO
I sincerely doubt they would be bothered about the technical offense of crossing the white line.
Keep us posted, remember you must receive the NIP in 14 days.

i think i was doing that speed when the lights turned amber, applied brakes and by the time i came to a stop i had gone through the section for push bikes and my front wheel was over the line.

and there were 3 flashes, twice at once (if you know what i mean) and then another about a second after

and what does nip stand for?

Think he means pnc or notice of prosecution , the photo should show that you have stopped though so you should be ok, if not then I would definately contest the case.
