Do you acknowledge other riders?

I typically acknowledge riders going the other direction, but I've noticed on my daily commute that its increasingly rare that I get acknowledged first. Is it now taboo to give a friendly nod to a fellow biker?

I think commuters and regular riders dont do it so much.

I know I dont generally whilst commuting, my concerntration is elsewhere.

I acknowledge others even though I'm only a pillion, I don't see many other pillions do it though I also thank drivers if they move over to let us overtake. Tend to time it exactly as YC does it or if he forgets

Outside London yes... Inside London no... it seems the not done thing in London. Probably cus you'd spend the whole journey nodding.

The only people I won't wave to are idiot kids on scooters. I even wave to the hairy-assed brigade, although they rarely nod back. I got a nod AND a smile from one a couple of weeks ago. I was so surprised I nearly fell off

I usually give a nod, makes my other half laugh like hell when i forget i'm driving the car.

Lol! Yeah, I agree about the scooters . Oh and I also like waving at little kids at the side of the road if they look interested in/scared of the bike

In london, I never done it. Its a totally different life in the city.

Outside london though, im happy to do it on the way home from work, even if the 3-4 miserable feckers who always come the other way don't (mind you, i've stopped now). But when out at the weekends i always nod.

Not much nodding in the city, but outside it's nodding time.

I usually nod at anyone who's opted for two wheels instead of four. Including scooters.

though coming through the lakes the other week noticied that NOBODY acknowledged each other
