KTM do a miltary spec off roader and there is always the Royal Enfield Robin, but not really aware of any others.
I know you can personally import the robin, don't know whether the KTM is sold for road use. Cheers Mark.

We have a few Diesel bikes, every now and again we replace them for various reasons and they tend to go for auction. As to who auctions them I do not know.

There was an article in bike about the enthusiast diesel bike scene in the uk. Perhaps they have some sort of website?

A diesel bike? I'd never drive a diesel car let alone a bike. Sounds hideous. Diesel is one of the most carcinogenic compounds known to man (up there with asbestos)

So what? The fuels supposed to go in the tank, not used to make your biceps look bigger after training lol
There's a bike based on the kwak KLR that runs on diesel, it's a military one and IMO any fuel benefit will be offset by the problems finding a bike and spares for it, with it being a military based one. If I was going to do it I'd use a smart car engine and an XJ9 frame chopped about a bit, but lots of dollar for an extra 30mpg... it'd take a long time to pay back and the performance wouldn't be too cracky, especially since a £200 GS500 will run for silly mileage and you can mostly fix them for a tenner.

Yeah, I remember seeing a home-built sports bike with a car engine in it, a wee diesel triple- not sure what it was from, citroen or pug if memory serves but that could be nonsense.
I think the reason the military likes them is that it simplifies your logistics, if you make all your vehicles run on one fuel you need to shift less stuff.
