From what I gather it's about right, the early RRs can be had from about £3-3.5k. So this one is £3,600 and low mileage (3500), it's probably about that value. Although you'd want to check whether it's been stored properly, clearly it's not ridden often!

Oh just noticed - "partial service history"? On a 3.5k mile bike? My guess is that they're only looking at the "services required by mileage" too - I doubt they've looked at it and said "oh, it's due a service every year regardless of mileage, didn't have one in 2006, partial service history that". Mind you if going by mileage then I would expect it to have only had the running-in service! All very confusing - I'd get clarification of that. Oh, and then post on TM's "Dealer service history/DIY servicing. Discuss" thread

I'd say its over priced. There are better deals around if you are willing to wait. I sold my SV a couple of months ago, and had to be without a bike for around 6 weeks - but I'm glad I did, as I found a CBR600RR 2005 for the same money as that one, and it only had 4k on it.

Just incase you dont know, the bike was re-vamped for 2005, and got USD forks, radial calipers, and a few other mods.

Partial service history I'm guessing means that it has had the 600 mile service, but not the 4000 mile yet. To be honest, I wouldn't bother - I think its steep for a 2003 bike, and who knows what problems might have been created by it being stuck in a garage SORN'd for a year - possibly flat-spotted tyres, siezed calipers? Its also possible that the 600 mile service might have been done in 2003 - and not serviced since? - If you stick to the mileage services.

Keep an eye on ebay - some people are really desperate to get rid at this time of year, and there don't seem to be many buyers - look at the completed listings and you will see. You can always contact a seller about a bike that hasn't sold - at least that way you know what he/she won't accept for it!

Good luck!

BB.

One thing to note, it's been SORN'd.

When was it SORN'd? You have to renew a SORN every year, and the DVLA don't send reminders. If the owner has forgotten to renew SORN, then you have to pay tax from when the SORN expired to the current date - otherwise DVLA won't give you a tax disc.

A mate of mine was recently stung for a bill of around £120 after keeping his bike off the road for a couple of years.

Too expensive, I just paid £4500 for an 07 with just over 5k on the clock it is still under Honda warranty and doesn't need an MOT until 2010.

Keep looking as BB says there were updates to the bike in 05 which also gave it better mid-range making it more useable for the daily commute etc.

They look almost identical, but the front forks are USD on the RR5 and later. There are loads about just take your time. Bikes aren't selling at the moment.

Good Luck.

If it was a perfect bike it would be a good price, but its an older version with dubious history.....and completely black (Respray?)

There is better bikes to be had out there.
