Default 180 rear tyre

will a 180 tire fit and be alright on a curvey? cheers

Not advisable but it'll fit.

My mate put a 190 on his thundercat (also 160) as an emergency tyre and it worked fine. Just wouldn't wanna be going anywhere quickly on it.

The tyre will be pinched on the rim, not really a good idea but it has been done. Personally I feel the SV handles perfectly well with a 160.

the tire on there is down to the wire - got to do about 500 miles this weekend and dont really have any other way of doing it. got a 180 in the garage. just need to know if it will fit or not. im thinking the torque are will be in the way

I have fitted a 180 to stock rim fine. Others have too and it is concluded that as long as it stays properly inflated, there is little danger of it coming off the rim.

The handling WILL be affected though, but it is not like the bike will be unrideable, you might need to feel the way a bit at first though.

Especially if it is only a temporary measure, then I for one would have no qualms in doing it …

Depends on the design of the hugger, my Pyramid Plastics hugger won't allow a 180 to fit with it on.

The 180 fitted below my hugger no problem ...
