Changing Locations

I'm curious about how many of us still live in the town we were born in. I grew up in Warwick, moved to Minehead to work, then on to Plymouth, back to Warwick, back to Plymouth, then Birmingham before finally ending up here in Rugby.

Have you moved a lot, or are you still a home-town person?

Strange one - My family were mostly in the services so they travelled around alot. Both my parents were brought up in Malta so we had no firm hometown in the UK until my grandad retired from the RAF while stationed at RAF Cardington near Bedford. The rest of the family gravitated here over the years.

I was born here in Bedford before grandad retired, while my mum was visiting, otherwise I'd have been born in Catterick, N. Yorks. Since then I've lived in Blandford in Dorset, Catterick, Malta, Singapore, Germany, Gloucester, Reading, Exmouth, Plymouth, Trowbridge, London, Norwich and Worksop. I only come back to live here after every move because I have mates here and miss them.

I was born in Amersham, Bucks - adopted at 6 weeks old & moved to Harpenden, Herts (didn't really have much choice in this one !!)

Moved to Southend-on-Sea aged 7 due to Dad's job (no choice again)

Left England and moved to Miami in the mid-80's

Back to Southend 1989

Travelling throughout Europe (working) in 1989 - 1991

Moved to New York 1991 to be with (then) fiancee

Back to England 1992 - to Milford-on-Sea, Hants

Moved to Hamble, Hants 1993

Moved to Hounslow, London 1994

Moved to Alfold Crossways, Surrey 1995

Travelling around Europe (working again) 1996 - 97

Europe & the Caribbean (working) 1997 - 1999

Back to Southend end 0f 1999

Moved to current location Great Wakering, Essex 2000

Not likely to move again without a serious lottery win !!

I was born and grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Then in 2001 I moved to London with my wife. Lived in Wanstead, East London for a couple of years then moved to Kent where we've been for the last 6 years.

I was born in Stourbridge in the West Midlands. And lived in the same house up till i was 17, when my parents moved to Stourport in Worcestershire (only about 15 miles from old house).

I then lived with my parents up till january this year when i moved out and moved in with drew in Worcester (which is about 20 miles from my parents house)

Not really moved around that much!

Born in Nottingham (6 months earlier and it would have been Cape Town)

Moved to the Midlands immediately

Moved to the Island aged 13 or so

Still here, couldn't live anywhere that wasn't within smelling distance of the sea now

Born and lived in Leicestershire till 4 months ago, and now living near Manchester.

Will probably move again though...

At 6 weeks moved to Hong Kong
At 2 returned home for 6 months to Bicester
Went to Germany and lived in Padderborne, Rheindallen and Ost.
Back to England and lived in Ambroseden (near Bicester)

Leicester (Uni)
Worcester
Swindon
Worcester (With parents)
Worcester (Now with Lily).

born in bristol...

moved to italt for a year when was 18 then back to bristol untill 22yrs old...

at 22 started working in cyprus so lived in cyprus for 8 months of the year then back to bristol for 4 months...done that for 3yrs...
moved to nottingham with a girl....lasted a week!!!
moved to derby with a girl....lasted 3 months...

now back in bristol....i like the west country
