new front end and insurance

as some of you will know my sv got killed by a p**** in a espace it is now getting brought home tomorrow. after a word with the boy who recovered it the fairings, left side and forks are wrecked but the engine and frame are a1.
so i had a think and decided i love that bike and it would have to be reserected from the grave. so gsxr frontend,and twin shack fairing kit will be coming soon with some other nice ( cosmetic ) bits.
my question is will i get eaten by my insurance for these changes or will they see they are non performance enhancing and only sting me a bit for making her look nicer

You will have to tell them, just in case you have another accident and the assessor points out the GSXR front end. In my case it never added anything to my insurance, just the engine mods did that.

I was asked to supply an engineers report detailing the changes.

So I did. It included all the front end specs, the rear shock replacement and anything else that is non-standard.

They said that I was fine to use the bike while they were waiting for the report.


I tried another company and they wouldn't even speak to me because it wasn't a standard bike.
