I booked my test at the time I was expecting to take the new type test so it cost me £80. As we all know it was put back 6 months so did the old style test instead. Today I just got a cheque through for £20 saying I was over charged, so any one else who paid £80 should look into this, if you havent been informed yet.

Same for Saturday tests a few years ago. Turned out it was illegal for them to charge more for Saturday, so they were supposed to refund the difference.

More importantly £80 for the new one ![]() ![]() I paid all mine in one go on a DAS and cant remember how much it was, even with 15% discount it was a fair back.....worth every cent though as everyone always says.

Had a reply back from DSA
Thank you for your e-mail dated 09th December 2008 regarding an incorrect fee charged for your Motorcycle test. If a candidate booked a bike test and paid the new price –that is to say that their test date was prior to 29 September 2008, then they would be entitled to a partial refund as should have only paid the original £60. The costs of providing the current practical motorcycle testing service are significantly in deficit. Therefore, the increase from 29th September 2008 to £80 brings this back into balance and the £80 fee is the correct fee for all motorcycle tests after this date. Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you require any further assistance. Yours sincerely Hayley Hoyles Contact Centre Agent Driving Standards Agency Tel: 0300 200 1122 Fax: 0300 200 1155 Email: customer.services@dsa.gsi.gov.uk So basically that means no refund. |
