Default Noledgebubble peeps

I have an old car which I am trying to keep in original trim[1993 Honda CRX]
It still has the original radio/cassette player fitted in full working order but I want to use my MP3 or iPod so I have bought an FM Tuner which sends a signal to the radio and lets you receive the music through the radio as a normal signal. It can also be powered through the cig lighter to recharge the battery. The one I have bought to see if they worked Ok is a Belkin cheapy from Currys and it does what it says on the box and seems to work when hidden away in the centre console glove compartment out of sight
Mr Soulkiss or somebody of that ilk, what is the best FM transmitter and is it compatible with most MP3 or iPods.

Probably a silly way to do it but I don't want to remove the original radio or start making holes and fitting extra electrics.

I've got a Belkin one for my 1985 Civic (Older aye )

It drained batteries quite quickly so i went out and just bought a CD player for it with an auxillary(sp?) port on it. Bought some speakers off DirtyDog and I now have some decent sound

If you have an actual ipod, then you will want one of these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Harman-kardo.../dp/B000DZ834W
It can either connect to the radio via a line in (If it has one) or via the supplied FM modulator.

Those FM transmitters are rubbish. I threw mine in the bin.

If you have a cassette player why don't you use one of them cassette thingys with a 1/8th inch connector attached to them and do that.

Mine was just a twist and turn radio. No Cassette. Think the CRX was the same.

The FM transmitters seem to be specific to the MP3 player...unless you can get one that runs off the headphone jack I suppose (I've only seen the iPod ones).

Anyway that's irrelevant...what I was going to say was, if it works why do you want to buy another?
