Hi
just a quick question, i have a K3 650 S i have not been on her since october, i went into garage to start her up, i pressed key fob, it didnt bleep (i was exp' bike bat' to be flat), i put key in and alarm went off, then i tried to stop it with key, the key wouldnt turn alarm off. the alarm went off of its own accord, but i noticed no flashing light in my key fob which used to be there when i pressed button before, now question, i imagine the batteries in key fob run out? what and how can i get them replaced??? ta v.much Richie (apologies for being; fair weather biker/not really a biker/2 a girl biker/ or whatever constitutes not being a real biker ![]() |

Alarm is not standard so unless you can provide details of make model etc then don't know how much help the org can be. Standard key fob alarm unit will probably split in 2 by using coin or key in moulded slot, these units tend to have 2 cr3032 coin batteries but realistically it could have any type of battery. Hth

aye sounds like flat battery in your keyfob - you should be able to pop it open (gently) if there's a little tab somewhere on the body of the keyfob... take the battery out and head to a watch repairs specialist - they usually stock all those wierd little flat batterys which are also found in keyfobs... Failing that, find out what type of security system you have and get in touch with them - should be able to help you out

Have a look in the paperwork/booklet/instructions that came with the alarm, should tell you the battery type for the keyfob and jow to fit it too. If you have not got the instructions go to the alarm manufacturuers website, most of them have online (Pdf) documents.

Be careful when removing the battery, sometimes certain models of alarms are coded such that if you remove the battery from the fob for any period of time over about 10 seconds they reset themselves such that they wont work. Best thing to do first up is find out about the alarm itself, that way you can find out what betteries you need and whether you can just swap the battery straight out. All else fails halfords do the batteries but we do charge a lot for them, unless you want to come to halfords in New Malden London on sunday afternoon/mondayevening and i'll discount them for you =P

Alpha Dot is a tagging system, not an alarm.

Should be okay for a short time, the Datatools have a small internal battery for this very reason (and in case you bike battery becomes flat).
