Need a bit of advice from the board members...
Now that the dollar/pound rate is favorable (yank here), I may be able to go out to the Suzuki dealer and get a new SV rather than buying one in the US and shipping it over. The websites say the price is 4300 pounds. Is that typically what is charged or are there other fees, such as setup, etc.? Also, anyone know of a good dealer close to IP28? I've found one in Cambridge so far. Thanks, Rob |

I'd try and get some discount on that price too, the bike market is very slow at the moment and dealers will be desparate to sell you something. There is a first registration fee, but that may also be included in that price. what price would you be paying to ship from the US?

About 500-700 more to Germany, then pay to ship here from there. Another 300-500 Pounds I would guess.
Thanks for the reply, philbut. |

Like pitb said, your better off in the long run buying from a local sv dealer than shipping due to the pound falling and bikes having so many deals on atm.
Best bet is to shop around and push for extras or more money off. Should be able to get your hands on a new 58 plate naked for around £3500 give or take ur hagiling skills. |

That would be some damn good hagling. I think you'd probably struggle to go much lower than £4k. I imagine once the dealer is past that they won't entertain much more. £800 is a lot considering the bike it only just over 4k!

Dont forget i said naked there.... they are about£500 cheaper to start with.
I thought F1G got his quite cheap, and even in mcn a few weeks ago i remember seeing one for £3800, with something like 15miles on the clock. |

Yeah I knew you were talking about a naked just that my local suzi dealer has them at £4520 for a new one so I doubted that you'd get near to £3500.
Could definitely get an as new second hand, with 100miles or so, for £3500 though I'd imagine. I'm a little confused as to which way you want to take the bike. Are you going to be riding it in this country? I just had a look on the Suzuki USA website and an SVF (Sport basically) is priced at $6999 which is about £4700ish. If I were in the shoes of robbills I think I'd be much more inclined to try and haggle in which ever country is the bike will be used in as the base price to start from seems almost the same. |
