Default Power Commander III Fitting?

How easy are they to fit? I'm thinking of getting one to go with my Yoshimura System i've got coming. Could i fit it all and then go and get it all set up properly at somewhere like JHS?

Cheers Rich

ive never seen the point of a PC, seem an expencive mod to me, anyhow back on thread there plug and play but dyno time would be needed to get the best out of your bike.

If you are going to JHS you may as well get it fitted at the same time as they may have a nice tidy way of doing it , or , as I suspect , you wanna fit it and have a play first , then pop over to JHS for the finer twiddly bits

there's a video in the help section on gixerjunkies. seems to be a five minute job. as said earlier though, jhs do this every day, if youre getting it all tuned anyway let them do it.

Very easy to fit - even for a numpty like me! I would definitely recommend getting it setup properly, I had mine tweaked at BSD and the difference in throttle response was fantastic and general urge was definitely noticeable - and it was only £90 on top of the price of the PCIII - IMO a small price to pay to have it running at its best.

Can I ask why you're getting a PC3?

I'm in a similar situation - I have just bought the headers and mid pipe to go with my R-77 slip-on (they're sitting in my living room right now, I just haven't bothered to fit them yet).

I'm going to get the ECU remapped by Steve Jordan's (probably) in a few months time. The only things the PC3 gives you are finer-grained adjustability (does it matter? I dunno...I mean, it fuels OK as it is, so that granularity must be reasonable) and the ability to take it out and change cans back, for MOT purposes (I don't care about this as it's years away).

Add this to the fact that I think all PC3s (I think it's only changed on the PCV/5) can only control the lower 4 injectors & not all 8, like the ECU remap...

Btw, are you having to swap the can over too (R-77 I was told is one of the only Yoshi systems where the slip-on can be fixed to separately purchased headers, etc, as opposed to buying a whole new system)?
