My Shoei pinlock still fogs up
![]() XR1000 bought in the summer came with the pinlock. I know the pins are ofset & I have gradually tightened them both up until the are now at they're tightest setting. There is no obvious gap but it still fogs up unless I am at motorway speed with the chin vent open or in town I have to crack open the visor. I know it has been extra cold - but that is when you least want to open the visor, but even today wasn'y that cold, & on it''s tightest setting it still fogged up. ![]() |

mine was doing this and i noticed when i put my tinted one in (you can see the seal better) that parts were either very thin or not even sealed, i mentioned it to the place i got it from and he said just to take it in, he would look at it and replace/sort it out.
also in order to find out where its not sealed take the visor off and breath on small areas at a time, may help may not!! may be worth a try? |

Not to sure about the shoei but bar of soap or fairy liquid solved the fogging issue with my agv.
Not sure if its much help but a quick fix none the less. |

Mine fogs up in the mouth area, the condensation is too much because of the cold I think. Bit annoying too because when it fogs up it's more of an effort to check the speedo on the SV!

Perhaps a very thin layer of silicon grease around the seal?

Never had any problems with fogging on my pinlock/Shoei Raid II. Can only assume that the insert is faulty??

I'm on my third xr1000 now, no problems at all with the pinlock fogging. Just has to be a good fit.

Stu, is it fogging up inside (the side against the visor) or the outside of the Pinlock?
