Unhappy Sv won't start

Hi all I'm having trouble with my wifes Sv, I removed the alarm solder'd the wires back together and now it wont start. when you turn on the ignition all the lights etc come on but you don't hear the fuel pump kick in, it winds over but wont start. am I correct in thinking the fuel pump is fixed under tank it's a k5 model. I've tried the diagnostick thing under the seat linking the 2 terminals together but nothing happens the readout just says chec any sudgestions. I've removed a few alarms for mates and on my own bike without this hassle

I've been through this headache myself. You likely have a mistake in the wiring, sometimes part of the original wiring is removed to accomodate an alarm.

I found the easiest way was to buy a loom for comparison and spend a good session with the wiring diagram and a multimeter until you find the offending error.

Check that you havent blown a fuse with all those bare wires dangling around.

Exclamation Re: Sv won't start

... had the exact same problem on a K5... trust me dude lol, if its the same problem just charge the battery.. well known on all suzys to kill off the batterys.
gives a little chikachikachika.. then nothing..but the pumps priming again.. try charging the battery sounds simple.. but thats where my money is, because it may be able to hold enough to turn it on and prime the pumps but not enough to engage the starter motor.

Read the OP

Fuel pump connector is down the LHS of the bike, check this for starters. Also check the tip-over sensor.

Are you sure you have connected the correct 2 wires for dealer mode? There should be a fault code displayed and "chec" should disappear.

I'm not so sure about this. The fuel pump isnt whirring at all from the description. Some of these alarms can be a pain in the backside to remove, after all they are intended to make it difficult.

On mine, I found there was a connector/junction box part that had been completely removed to fit the alarm. Once I'ld figured that out I wired it up just fine but it only became obvious once I had seen another loom to compare against.

i just think thats it the most simple explination, when the bike wont start. it would certainly pee me off if ive ripped the loom to bits then to find it was a flat battery lol,
