is it ok to keep swapping the fog city (from clear to a tint?)
as there looks to be some sort of a seal it it just seems a bit easier than swapping visors H |

Fog City and Pinlock are two different products.
I would say yes to the Pinlock and no to the Fog City as it is stuck in rather than held in with two posts. Fog City ![]() Pinlock ![]() Last edited by Dangerous Dave; 20-09-08 at 01:48 PM. Reason: Pictures Added |

Following up on what Dave said, if it is a pinlock as opposed to FC, you shouldn't have any problems swapping them around as you need to - I've got a clear and a light tint, which I swap between clear and dark visors as required.
Worst thing you'll have to do is tweak the cams to make sure the seal holds all the way around, because the two won't be exactly the same. |

http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/moto...content_cat/82 It's just pinlocks tend to be manuf. specific so usually ari/shoei etc. IMO no, insets are more fragile than visors & youwant the seal to stay good. Also the tint on inserts are not dark enough. So Hovis I do & would recommend switching visors not inserts |

Hovie baby!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and Drew swap tinted pinlock and clear pinlock as is no trouble rather than changing visor.......... plus we were told can have a darker tinted pinlock than visor legally. Happy to be corrected however! |

Pinlock is a patent to Shoei, at no point in that link does it say Fog City make a Pinlock!

Arai use the Pinlock system, which is not made by the same people who make Fog City. Loads of manufacturers are making Pinlock ready visors for their helmets now, even budget brands like Nitro.
I regularly swop my one Pinlock insert between three visors on two helmets with no problems. Been doing this for over a year now. |

Nice and simple - Pinlock is a product of Shoei, what over manufacturers are doing is cutting holes in there visors to use Shoei's product which has now become a separate company of off Shoei. Shoei have even made one to fit in Arai helmets, what Arai are using is Shoei's product.
Fogcity's is its own company and there products stick in with a sticky outer edge, they all do, where as Pinlock simple does what it says and is locked in against the visor with two pins. |
