Default aftermarket levers

I bought myself a pair of black aftermarket levers for the bike.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=230320607188

i managed to fit the break lever and it looks fantastic on the bike,

only problem is the clutch lever does not seem to want to fit

i've put it side by side on the old one and can't see any major difference.

anyone else ever had a pair of these and if i need to do anything to get it to fit? as just now it wont so i have a silver clutch lever and a black brake lever.

Do you have a pic of the two side by side?

nope as i put the silver standard one back on to ride it, and its now dark outside and i dont have a garage so don't want to risk breaking anything.

have emailed the ebay seller asking why its not fitting, so waiting on a reply.

I have an identical clutch lever to that, not to sure my clutch perch is an SV one though.

The brake lever was used on a track bike and it bent (without the aid of tarmac contact) so watch out.

Looks like the clutch switch recess is not machined out of the lever. Could it be that the clutch switch is preventing the lever from sitting fully home?

Bought a brake lever similar to that last October. I have been having problems with the brake light staying on. Bought a new lever which is a different type & it's cured the problem. There was a load of play in the old lever & none in the new, more expensive one. Spose thats a problem with buying inexpensive pattern parts. Amnesia could have a point

Old Lever. Fairly big gap between lever & switch.

New Lever. Hardly any gap between switch & lever.

They dont fit as standard - or at least mine didnt. Garage fitted mine for free when took it for the MOT and they had to machine it down.

its simple . just file accross the mounting hole to make the metal a bit thinner . it should fit fine then . its usually just that the paint is a bit thick and wont allow the lever to fit properly .
