Quick hypothetical for anyone in the insurance business *spits*
![]() If you take out a separate track day insurance policy and bin your bike, make a claim etc, Are you obliged to inform your regular road insurer of the fact that you binned it on a a track?

I don't work in insurance but I have read elsewhere that you don't need to inform your regular insurance company as they are only concerned with accidents on the public highway. I know you will need some better confirmation that that but that's what I've heard!

The only trackday insurance I have ever seen was for 3rd party only. I.e damage to the track/barriers/other people

I never bother with trackday insurance because it's so bloody expensive. All I insure is my riding kit for 35 quid a year

I didn't bother either, they exclude what they call 'the pretty bits' - basically anything you can mash - and as you're not likely to collide with anything I couldn't see the point. Pricey and a waste of money.
