Default fitting scorpion can link pipes and welds

right then, got a carbon scorpion can which came off a k4, I have a k3 now taking a saw to the OE link pipe 50mm up from the weld and 20 mins later no exhaust on bike. link pipe for the scorpion is a little long for the k3 but the part of the link pipe with the weld on came off my bike - no force, no energy required just slid off. Now the scorpion link pipe is perfect! do I need the bit with the weld on? does it do much?

Have you got any pics?

I don't quite understand this bit...'the part of the link pipe with the weld on came off my bike' .

The K3 and K4 link pipes on the budget UK exhausts are the same.

right then try not to confuse anyone - I was told when fitting the scorpion can I need to cut the OEM link pipe about 50mm up from the weld I also watched xXbadgersXx youtube video to make sure I got the right place.

picture 1 - can now off the bike

The piece left from the OEM link pipe then came off

remainder of link pipe

the I put the new link pipe and can onto bike see here it fires up fine a few pops and a loverly sound. I am presuming all is OK.

I don't understand why you have a separate section of the OEM link pipe left, the OEM can is welded to the 2-1 section.

How many times did you cut the exhaust? I can see one cut on the link pipe and one cut on the silencer inlet, and obviously there is another cut under the Scorpion link pipe.

It is fitted correctly in your picture, pops are normal especially on the Pointys (PAIR system)

I only made one cut the new link pipe is straight onto the 2 - 1 section ? not sure what happened but it sounds rather nice going down the road.
