Mirrors at MOT?

Hiya all

Quick question, do bikes need to have the mirrors on to go through the MOT?

I've currently got one bar-end mirror on my SV, wondering if it's good idea to put the OEM mirrors on as well, do the MOT and whip them back off again.

I think that technically mirrors aren't needed but thought I'd check with the mighty org intelligence to make sure...

At least one mirror is required, so you single bar end mirror will be fine.

Not strictly true. My CBR600 has been MOT'd by two different MOT stations with no mirrors, lights, indicators or reflector and has passed both times. If you have mirrors fitted they have to be in good condition and secure, but you do not need them for an MOT.

If you read here you'll see there isn't even a section in the MOT that covers mirrors specifically.

Get mirrors on for the sake of riding it. Bar-end or standard, whatever. They are pretty useful!
