Inforad installation advice for curvy SV

Am planning to fit one of these to my cuvry SV this the wknd:

under the pillion seat storage, wondering where to power it from:

1 – connect the two wires to the main battery with a added on/off switch between?

2 – piggyback the parking light/side light wires?

3 – anywhere else recommended?

These is also a meter long amplified antenna, would stuffing it all in the tail unit be sufficient? Or should it be run up the length of the bike to the screen area to maximize the GPS reception?

Any ignition controlled live will be fine - the Inforad is a very small load, clearly it would best if it were connected to a circuit such as the indicators - in the event of a problem it won't lose you the ignition or other vital circuit.
I put the aerial inside the screen of my bike, it's the highest and least obstructed place on my bike, (ZX6-R), but I think the same is true of most faired bikes.

I'm a novice to bike eletric so I have been studing the Haynes wiring diagram with your advice in mind and plan to do this, but want to make sure:

To connect the 2 Inforad wires to the licence plate light wires (this is a ignition controlled live?) so that its on when the side / main light switch is engaged. is this a ok setup?

You have a Curvy, so the number plate light isn't permanently on - if the lights aren't on the Inforad won't be powered either. I imagine that you usually have the lights on anyway so it may not matter - but I'd still connect it somewhere that's ignition controlled.

I stuck the antenna to the inside of the tail and it is fine.

Yes its a just flashing light, but its a well built piece of kit and works well. It will also log your journeys for later viewing on google earth if you wish.

Different thread, but we were mulling over adding a self cancelling sounder to it last night, which I plan to sort out in the next week or three when I get a moment.

Yes, it 's just a single LED - but that provides all the info that it needs to.

I considered putting the aerial in the tail piece but wondered if it might be obscured when I carry luggage, it would probably be fine but the cable is long enough to reach the screen so I put it there.
