Default Strange handling.

On sunday i came out of work, on the way home i reached a roundabout, sitting at 30mph, so clutch in, blip of throttle, down in to 2nd, Before i let the clutch out the back end lock up and kicked out. I tried restarting it, no oy, couldnt select a gear either. So pushed it off the road, got it started, and away i go again, except this time it feels as though the back end is wanting to push out, eg its feeling very light. I thought, right mmm puncture, checked it, nothing. Road at 30mph to the nearest garage, checked the pressures, fine. Ive ridden it home, about another 10miles. Went out on it this morning, and it still feels the same. Almost as tho it isn't connected to the road, went around a corner. Brake lightly for the junction and the back end wanted to go to my offside. I havent been going at speeds even close to what i have done before because of it. But its beginning to bug me now. So much so im a bit frightened to go out on the bike. I've been out there. Checked the chain - about 2.5mm of play. alignment is spot on, nuts done up nice n tight. No play on the back wheel. When ive got the bike up on the paddock stand nd let it run on engine revs the chain isnt moving smoothly, it will go and have a wee "jerk" (excuse the expression) now n again, Its not sliping at the rear sprocket, im assuming thats because theres no weight on the rear wheel tho. Ive gave the pre-adjuster on the suspension a wee tweek around aswell. It was set at 6 which is its 2nd most stiffest, so dropped it to 4 which is the factory recommended

Thats a bit tight!! It should be about 25mm from top to bottom.

nope. rear brake is fine. CHecked it all, its only been rebuilt new pads etc at the back. What i have noticed is when im moving i can hear the front discs/pads rubbing, like a mild grinding noise. Is this normal? if i push the bike it is fine, no resistance etc

Bone question, but I'll ask it - got any oil/grease/slippery stuff on your rear tyre?

Whatever the cause of the slippery feeling it sounds like your chain isn't perfect.
Get the bike back on the paddock stand and turn the rear wheel slowly by hand, feeling for tight spots and looking for kinked links along the bottom. Make sure you adjust the chain tension on the side-stand though.

This might sound stupid, but check the front end. I had a problem with a wierd handling feeling, thought it was the back end, but after checking tyre pressures I found that the front tyre pressure was quite low.
Might be worth a try

Swinging Arm Bearings?

Get the rear in the air and see if the swing arm will move side to side.
