As the title says really.......
I have a 2000 (Y) model nekkid curvey and want to put together a toolkit to fill the lonely gap under the pillion seat. If someone can tell me what's in it I'll be really grateful. ![]() Cheers folks ![]() |

Just put in what you need. Some decent spanners, allen keys, pliers, spark plug spanner(?), pen knife, mini head torch..... you get the idea.

what petevtwin650 has done is a great idea, the standard suzi tool kit is barely enuf to get by with, the only things i would add are a pucture repair kit and a fiver.

Pete's got the right idea, under the seat of the Kwak IIRC currently sits:
molegrips Screwdrivers Spanners in 8 - 14mm Sockets in 10 - 17mm Ratchet with extension External circlip pliers (Carried as I've been on 2 rideouts when pointy gear levers have become disconnected) Alen keys Plug socket about 3ft of gaffa tape wrapped around one of the other tools about 3ft of insulating tape wrapped around a tool Pair of latex gloves Bungee net Puncture repair kit Spare levers to be attached inside rear plastics at the weekend (That'll have sod's law break one between now and then) ![]()

Well this is a useful thread, some good ideas there for safety and those needs to "get you out of the s**t" ocationally. Thanks guys. I like the lever set idea.
I always carry a cargo net and a couple of bungees. Don't think I could fit two takeaway boxes and the spray and the levers under my pointy seat though. Possibly with the rear cowel on though, I'll have to check. Thanks. Matt. |

Yes some good ideas.
Levers can be bought as a set off of e-bay for £15 plus postage, but I went into my local small bike shop and he did me a set for 18 quids. Well worth carrying to get you or a mate out of the poo. Bungy straps are ok but a bit bulky. What I have under the riders seat are some luggage straps. The type that go around suitcases. They are about 30 cm long and you can join them together. Very useful for holding on bits that have fallen off. Use a cable tie to keep them compressed when not in use. ![]() Last edited by petevtwin650; 22-02-07 at 12:35 PM. |

Ok, I have only ever had punctured tyres replaced on my bike. What exactly does a puncture repair kit for a tubeless tyre consist of and how do you administer it on the side of the road?
