Default Swap ECU

Hey .org ers

How easy is it to swap my restricted ECU for the standard SV650 ECU? Got a SV650S Sport SK6 07 and my restriction is up in 2 weeks. Woohoo!

I know it's just swapping the unit but I need to know how to get to the restricted bugger ECU in the first place!

Tried searching but maybe my search terms are too wide...

Cheers for any help

It's below the riders seat, behind the battery. Steps are:

1) Remove riders seat
2) Disconnect battery
3) unplug ECU

Refitting is the reverse of removal (no sh!t Sherlock!)

Thumbs up Re: Swap ECU

Isn't much work at all, took me about 20-30mins.

Under the front seat is two black panels either side of the bike, take them off using a 5mm allan key (I think it is) to reveal 6mm cap head bolts (goes through white plastic), lift the seat off and the ECU is situated next to the battery, [on my one].
You got to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before unplugging the ECU, then just connect the new one and put in the position the old one was, then start putting your bike back together

Hope I was some help to you and good luck!

i have an datatool s4, it has an internal battery so will be fine for more than enough time to complete the job. just put it into service mode, won't activate the alarm when the main power supply is disturbed.

75bhp, very optimistic.

knock it into service mode by turning on the ignition on hold down round button untill it bleeps once the switch ignition off

or

hit the oval button disable movement sensor thats what i do other wise service mode bleeps at you every 15 seconds movement sensor can be reactivated by pressing same button or when alarm is set
