U'll love this. Live feed from the Shuttle Atlantis. Had some stunning shots already, watched them move the control arm out. They are doing a visual inspection of the ship after take off at the moment. Space walk is due on thursday. Its good, you get to listen the the coms between Atlantis and Mission Control. Its a little slow, but great to chuck on the speakers and glace over every so often (God bless direct BB link out of our network ![]() A must for any space fans. I've had it on for hours now. Watched the shuttle flip over, watching the earth come into view from live (well delayed) camera on board is mega. No internal shuttle shots yet, and all ou can see is black tiles at the mo as the arm swings under the shuttle. They are currently 8000 miles behined Hubble. Not much on there at the moment.
Just a big arrow sign saying 'rescue' I'll have a look when I get home tonight, meanwhile the tab remains open. |

That IS the shuttle in space
![]() As said, they have the robotic arm out viewing round the whole shuttle to check for any damage after take off. It does pan out onto other things. Been viewing the shuttle for an hour or so now, so expect that for another hour or 2. If you go to the right of the screen there is a timetable for whats happening. |

Left hand side, look for NASA TV (with blue arrow).
Click on NASA TV Schedule, and open in a pdf and it gives you the schedule of whats coming up. Right now, gawd knows what that is ![]() Im guessing that they are on the underside of the shuttle at the moment (camera on robotic arm). |

Ahh, voices, they are surveying the left wing still.... Upper leading edge.
Next few hours (just heard it). Lunch ![]() Inspection of right wing Then start lowering of pressure from 14psi, down to 10.5psi in the cabin to start getting the crew doing the spacewalks ready. So today will be quite boring from now on as it'll be lots of close ups. If you catch it right, you might get to see the arm swing over the shuttle to the other side. Will keep this post updated for those who only want the fancy bits ![]() Last edited by Daimo; 12-05-09 at 03:05 PM. |

Crazy.
I like space, and TV is all fun, but real life just makes it that bit more special |

Apparently its the most dangerous mission they,ve yet to carry out due to the amount of debris up there, they,ve got Endeavour sat on a launch pad waiting to go up as a lifeboat if needed.
