We are heading down friday morning and catching the ferry. Camping all weekend, coming back monday. Looking forward to it, but having checked the weather looks like it may be a wet one!

Le Mans is incredible.

I went a few years ago, i guess i was probably 15, and it was awesome. We went to see the 24hr race. The atmosphere was great.

There is a long strip of road along the front side of the track (by the main entrance and some of the big camping sites) outside the big wall/fence of the track. When i went, lots of people were drag racing and doing burn outs and stuff on the strip, it was pretty wicked.

Some dudes brought along a paddling pool too, and a sick (like really sick) amount of beer. About 8-9 kegs, no joke.

There was a lot of exotic metal.

Expect...
>beer
>wheelies
>burn outs
>beer
>drag racing
>plenty of smiles

Take loads of pictures, it would be good to see!

Well, waht can i say? What an experience!!!!! Camping was, erm, interesting! Got there on the friday, couldnt find a pitch big enough for our tent, so parked the van, set up and kipped in there for the weekend!! In hindsight, a better option i think. Utter madness. Rev limiters were bouncing all weekend till the early hours!!

Few pics...

Our "campsite" LOL

Some of the racing. We had a good spot for sundays action. A big screen was to the right of us. Didnt miss a thing!

The leftovers on sunday eve. We stayed and headed for Le Havre monday.

Looks like a laugh. That exhaust must have been ridiculously loud!

I caught some of the racing on Eurosport earlier, looked good. Loads of bails in the 125's on sunday?!

I was at this round too.

I have to say that the French do seem to have an obsession with bouncing engines off there rev limiters! you couldn't walk 5 yards without it happening. at one point there was a group of about 20 people staring at a bloke revving his engine....... ooooooookaaaaaay

the atmosphere at le man was nothing like last year at catalunya, atmosphere was electric there. Le man for me wasn't even as good as donnington.... still enjoyed my trip though will definitely be taking more trips abroad on the bike

Ploppy, did you camp at the campsite near the circuit? Bleu campsite? Reason i ask, is me and the lads i was with had a chat with some barnsley lads! One of them seemed abit, actually very, drunk and was eating our sausages LOL. Was mayhem on the campsite. If we go again B+B will be order of the day!

well......

we were supposed to be camping in rouge, but when we got there we were told that this was full and to go just down then road to bleu, i must not be getting this French thing because just down the road actually means about 4 miles around the circuit we got to bleu and were greeted with the new French national anthem of engine limiters......... allot of them.
Another 30 mins driving around a field that looked more like a gypsie camp and we found a spot, pitched tent and off we went. in the next 2 hours my little lady (who im walking hand in hand with) is shouted at and leered at by a half a dozen groups of frogs all saying something on the lines of 'allo allo im french, give me a keez!' and then one bloke decided to ignore me completly and grab her by the shoulder to try and turn her around for a god knows what. Suffice to say both me and her wasnt best impressed so we packed up and credit card to the rescue booked into a hotel. At this point i might add that we were driving around le mans for above an hour at around 11 oclock at night to find this hotel and it cost a small fortune for the 3 nights

Not the best start to the hol. If i were in a group of lads then maybe it would have been ok and i could have got into the atmosphere abit but it was just me and my girlfriend on pillion. I aggree with you mate it was bonkers and next time its hotels all the way. I did enjoy myself after this rocky start, hope you had a better time of it mate on the campsite
