Love 'em (as long as I don't have to ride very far at the time)

I agree. It's been going on since about 7 - absolutley amazing. Some of the lightening stikes have been huge!
And the air feels washed clean now. Love it

Was very impressed that the police heli was still flying over manchester this evening. But I guess it has to watch the approaches from Liverpool....

Absolutley love them except for the one time about 10 years ago at a site near J6 of the M25, running about the big clearing (about a mile in diamater) when the sky went black, this was followed by a fantastic (looking back on it) bolt of forked lightning hitting a tree at the clearing's edge.
Then it dawned upon me (and the other 12 or so folks there) that being dressed in chainmail, in the middle of a clearing, in a thuinderstorm, was really, really, not nice. I dont think i have run so far, so fast before or since in my life! |

Yep. Got thunderered, lightninginged and deluged at whilst replacing my rear brake pads. But thoroughly enjoyed it.
Especially when I got changed into dry clothes. Last year, I headed out to meet the GM one evening. It just started as we were finishing and leaving. Then had the most spectacular ride back on the A246. Multiple flashes across the otherwise pitch black horizon. Was amaaaaazing! Bit scary in the dark in that "aim left of the headlights" kind of way, but the storm was one of the most stunning I've experienced. The first time I've seen a bolt come out of the sky nearby (couple of hundred metres). |
