.......... on a pushbike, yep got busted
![]() ![]() been at a house part all day and been drinking since about lunch time (near Durley for the yokels), 22:15'ish i decided i should make a move, i hadn't been drinking to much but guessed i was a fair bit over the limit so decided to leave my car and borrow a pushbike, celotaped a torch to the handle bars for some sort of lighting and put on a hi-vis jacket (it in the middle of no where) anyway was tanking over the M27, past the cricket ground and into west end village, coming past the cricket stadium i could see two hi-vis jackets bobbing about and knew straight away it was pc plod as they are normally there at night to catch the barry boys, as i got closer one jumped out int the road (was dead) and across in front of me shouting "stop". I stopped and immediately went to sit down as i was complete knackered (could see stars, im so out of shape) copper immediately told me i had been stopped for speeding to which i gave a out of breath laugh saying "your joking", apparently he clocked me with a radar thingy at 34 MPH (im proud of that ![]() now i started to loose my temper, in a raised voice i started to explain that there was no way his gun could have accurately clocked me on a pushbike now this is where i get lucky, as he's about to book me or charge me with "what ever" a barry comes screaming down the road and both coppers jump into their beemer to shoot off, im left sat there like this >> ![]() anyway decided not to stick around and hastily decided to vamoose. i am now complete knackered im just lucky they didnt ask to look at my "pushbike operating licence" as i don't have one ![]() Last edited by Wideboy; 30-05-09 at 10:19 PM. |

tbh honest id like to see it happen more in London....
there are rules and not many people on push bikes abide by them, and someone on a bicycle hitting you at thirty mph hurts quite alot, and they dont have indipendant insurance for them (but you can claim of their house insurance apparently |

I rode home absolutely piddled on my Freeride rig one night . I woke up the next day to find all the side nobbles off a rather expensive knobbly tyre , missing . I must have ridden home by Braille , burring the knobbled edges off the kerb and chewing them off in the process . I hated that tyre after that , it was practically new and could take right handers with ease cranked over on my local trails , left handers the front slid ALL the time and dumped me on the deck at least 5 times ..... I still refused to buy a new one til I wore that one out
![]() PS . You were lucky by the way ![]() |

Yes they can, I got a caution for speeding on a pushbike years ago, luckily i was under 16, 39 in a 30 (great big hill, head doon rear up) obviously it cant go on your licence but you can be fined for it, also the drunk driving, a friend of mine was done for this, now my memory is not what it used to be but i'm failry sure he got a big fine and points on his driving licence, so maybe they can put points on your licence for pushbike offences?? but would a ban prevent you riding a push bike??
Oh, i think this also carries over to horses. |

i new you could be cautioned as my brother was cautioned for "operating a bicycle under the influence of alcohol" (something like that) late last year, but that was it, just a caution
bad time to admit i do it a far bit? ![]() |
