i think most companies will want to see proof of restriction, if not at the inception of the policy then when you try to claim

Not to sound harsh but didnt you get a quote BEFORE getting the bike? Ive alsways checked what ins is gonna be like before buying a bike/changing it over to a new one.
Are you friendly with your local garage? if so go and have a chat and see if they could help out with the proof of restriction

Ask the insurance company to confirm that a Dyno printout with the vehicle VIN / registration showing a maximum power output of less than 33bhp is acceptable as proof. [Edit: I'm a little slow, you've done that]

Most insurance companies will accept this. Any that don't are wasting your time as they shouldn't really be concerning themselves with it as its a condition of your license not your insurance.

[Edit: They will still ask for proof if you make a claim though. However having the ECU in place on the vehicle should be better proof than a 6 month old piece of paper.]

who fitted the restrictor?

just get them to write a letter on headed paper stating that the bike is <33bhp

or get your local dealer to look at the ECU serial number and do the same

should only cost you a few quid to get them to do it

Yup it'll be your postcode (probs a high crime area) and the fact you've had a bike nicked before. My insurance premuin is high because my new sv is parked on the road (tho its in my parents garage atm ), and easily stolen.

It sucks being young and a biker but until your 26+ your going to have to pay high insurance prices until you get a NCB and some age behind ya.

Also regarding the 33bhp thing your insurance should not care about proof, if anything happens they'll want it but not just to insure your bike (this was my experience with kawasaki green care).

Have you tried Bennetts, Carole Nash, CIA? Proper bike insurance firms rather than car firms with bikers added on??

I feel for you bud but TBH its about right my first insurance on a big bike was about 700 TPFT and my bike was garaged in a low crime area, obviously no points or insurance claims before.

***Edit that custom can aint helping either me thinks
