Default Aged parent pillion

Took my 73 year old dad out for a blast last night. Could hear him screaming*, though the ear plugs and over the quite noisy exhaust.

*Screaming was enjoyment not fear, I checked.

At one point he starts tapping my shoulder vigerously, so I stops at the next layby, "what's wrong" asks I, "Go faster, this is brilliant". I did point out there were speed cameras these days, "don't worry I'll cover your plate"

Last time he was on a bike was back in the 60s on a 500 BSA Shooting Star (IL Twin); one of these apparently.

He spent the next two hours gibbering like a loon about how fantastic it was & how I should be carefull and not go so fast

He didn't like the full face helmet though, from the pictures he has it looks like a leather flying helmet he used to wear complete with goggles

Carol took my 56 year old mother out for a ride which Mum liked. For her birthday, we presented her with a photo of her on the bike (although in my jacket and helmet it was hard to tell it was her!) which she now has in pride of place on her desk. Bless...

Your old man must be as cool as pengiun p***

You definately have to get him back into biking - or at least take him out more. Get him to a meet and watch his eye's pop out of his head.

My 70yr old dad went out for his first blast on his SV yesterday and absolutely loves it - me it great to see my old bike running around but i fear the days of a quick lonely blast to clear my head may have gone!
