Default Clipon locating bolt - okay to remove?

Hi folks
I removed the set bolts from the clipons and rotated the bars forward as far as possible last night. After a 20 mile test run its more comfortable, my wrists and hands are now at a better angle to the bars.

My only concern is one of safety is it ok to leave the bars in this position without the set bolts?

cheers

I'd regularly ensure that the clamps were sufficiently tight so that there were no chance of the handlebar moving at an inopportune moment, but otherwise it'll be fine - essentially the two 10mm headed bolts only position the handlebar, if there were enough force applied to the handlebar to rotate it when the clamp is correctly tightened then the bolt/lug wouldn't give much extra resistance.

Yup most race clipons use no locator bolt. If in doubt loctite the clamp bolt if you don't trust yourself to check!
