Angry Dropped it!

My car!!!

Haha can't believe it. Had a grinding brake so pulled into morrisons to check it out. Jacked it up, took the wheel off to find I had one worn pad. I was trying to swap them round just to get me to unipart and as I was removing the last pad the car rolled off the jack and crashed to the ground!!!

I stepped back n just said to Kerri...I can't believe I've dropped the car before I've dropped my bike!!!

Jacked it back up finished the job then realised the passenger door had clipped a kerb on the way down and bent it upwards so it wouldn't close so need to bend that back.

Luckily that was the only damage the car didn't rest on the disc just on a pretty solid suspension part.

Pretty embaressing when there are lots of shoppers walking past with your car dumped on the ground.

Good job you were not close, I knew there was a reason why ramps and axle stands are a good idea. Glad you got it sorted, could have been much worse if you had not been able to jack it again.

two weeks after my accident that almost knackered my back (fell down a WWII slit trench after landing safely from 4,500' straight onto a mound of 50 years of rubble) I was in the garage talking to my brother who was removing a gearbox. lazy sod was doing it off a jack when the car began to fall. I grabbed the front and held it whilst he got out safely. I however, had a nice ride in an ambulance and 3 months of treatment for spinal injuries.

I once saw an elderly chap go and help his next door neighbour change her Land Rover Wheel, he couldn't get it high enough so stuck the jack on a few bricks. I've never seen an old bloke run so fast as the car came crashing down. It could have killed the silly old fool but I couldn't help laughing it was like a comedy sketch. Always put the wheel you've taken off under the car near the jack just incase.

As long as the car rested on the hub I think you'll be alright tbh

the other week, me and a friend lifted a 1.8 cvh engine from a ford sierra - using a scaffolding bar across the width of the engine bay and the seatbelts as engine straps.... only problem was that kev has about 12-18 inches of scaffolding bar over his shoulder - I had about 5 inches on mine = when we lifted it, the bar slipped onto my collar bone..

Possibly one of the worst sensations in the world on the flipside, I knee'd kev in the head while he was bending down to look at the steering rack. Then he got me back by dropping the gearbox on my hand. If I hadn't been wearing my ring I think I may have broken/lost a finger. Later on he smacked his head on the corner of the bonnet.

We're now known as laurel and hardy by my neighbours

You plonker....lol. That's so funny and I'm glad the damage is minor. Well, hope so with the door anyway!

Ah managed to fit the new pads. Got a slight ring as if the pads are binding on still but at least it doesn't grind away at my disc everytime I hit the brakes.

Can't for the life of me bend the door back to the original position, had two grown men literally hanging off the door and it still didn't budge!!!

I though it was pretty funny too. Just looking at it lying on the ground made me laugh.
