Default Medical Discussion / Post Viral Syndrome

About 2 weeks ago I suffered from a short blast of the "summer Bug" similar to the flu but not as severe, I worked though it feeling pooh but within a week it had gone,

now about 7 days ago, a week after the flue went, I started to feel really drained, physically, my brain is awake, but I Feel drunk, light headed and dizzy. I feel nervous and anxious coupled with the shakes in extreme moments. I have the very odd moment of clarity but mostly this hazy feeling of not being with it. Its like I am sapped of all my energy all of the time
I can still work but not as well and physically I am done for earlier in the day all the time, I am physically drained by 3pm just working at my desk. Food doesn't help neither does sugar.

I went to the doctor, and I was effectively fine, my blood pressure is as low as it has been in recent years and although I am overweight there is little else medically wrong. She diagnosed possible Post Viral Syndrome, but said if it doesn't go away within a week to come back, I will go back this week if I can get an appointment, but does anyone know exactly what PVS is... if it can be over come, got round.

Sleep doesn't help as I am not always sleepy but tired (if that makes any sense) I can work through it but it is really really hard to keep concentration and get distracted....oh look a fly.... you get my drift.

Anyone got any first hand experience of PVS?

Im going to go and goggle some info but the law according to goggle aint always right. I am slowly going insane feeling like this?

Hiya alex, sorry to hear about this not heard of it before mate but hope you get well soon. Just had a quick look on wikipedia but the article is tiny and pretty vague.

Also, as for bashing symptoms into google, take the results with a pinch of salt as it's nearly always cancer or aids or swine flu.

Hope you get well soon, and if you do end up taking any time off work - this will help pass the time soooo much
