Insurers for a restricted 03 SV650s

HI there guys, just been getting some quotes for an sv 650 s pointy. im 17 with 1 years no claims, I get a quote of £325 for TPFT from MCE if I DONT tell them the bike is restricted. This goes all the way up to nearly £600 if I tell them that IT IS restricted..

how can this be?

Also anyone else got a cheap insurer for a restircted sv?

Most insurers dont ask if its restricted or not.

It's not that, its just the fact that im not telling them that I have the restrictor... as if i say it has it the premium goes up a lot

Hes right, I went with Devitt. £560tpft no NCB, the woman said on the phone "is that the restricted license", I said yes and that was it.

There has been threads on here for a while now with people asking about restrictions.
Most people have said either :- they have never been asked or they have never been asked to prove its restricted.

It seems that insurers and the dvla/dsa dont actually contact eachother regarding the restriction rule.

When I was on a restricted licence I was never asked to prove any restriction and when I mentioned it to the insurers they didnt really care as the premium was still the same.

OK thanks for the help, I'll just go for the cheaper option.
