Default SV650S Handlebar Height

Hi guys, I know this has probably been answered hundreds of times before but my wrists are now starting to ache because the handlebars are just to low down for me, I am not the race-type so dont need them low either, was is the quickest, easiest, cheapest option to heighten the handlebars as after an hour my wrists are in so much pain.

Thanks in advance

Adrian

Before I go any further, I'm selling a pair of Heli-Bars - this is not biased at all!!!

There are several ways to skin this cat.
1 - Buy some raised clipons such as Heli-Bars or LSL Tour clipons
2 - Buy a set of yokes for a naked SV650 (K3 on) and put renthall bars on.

Pros and cons
1 - Very easy to do, no need for new cables or to take anything but the top yoke off. Brand new, they can be quite pricey though. Heli-bars also are a direct replacement - no drilling or filing or 'owt needed.

2 - Much bigger difference in handlebar height, much more upright position. Lots of faffing though. I can remember if you'll need to change the bottom yoke, but if you do then you have to take the forks out and support the bike whilst they are. You'll also need new brake lines, and throttle cable, not sure about the switches - probably not. There's also quite a few bits you'll need to source, but I think that there is someone who is selling a kit on here somewhere (don't know if it's for pointies, curvys, or both though)

I loved my Heli-bars and they made a real difference. They kept the feel of the bike, but really reduced the pain in my wrists. Shame I stuck a GSXR front end on.....

I have now had my hamdlebar conversion done, very happy with it, thanks to matt-yokes for the excellent piece of kit supplied, thought I would show all and include some photo's - hope you like it, it has completely changed the ergonomics of the bike for the better with IMO better handling.
