We checked out a few places today that might do for breakfast or even an evening meal. We were thinking of using a local pub, but they needed guaranteed numbers and we didn't think we could do that so further afield it is.
![]() First was the Grouse and Claret. Only one price (£6.50), but it does include cereals, mandarins, orange juice and tea or fresh coffe, plus choice of cooked breakfast and toast. Also has the advantage of being open from 7.30, even on Sunday. Big carpark and lots of room inside. Straightforward ride over and less than 5 miles from the site. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Full English ![]() My Choice with scrambled eggs ![]() Lissa Choice ![]() Then we went down to Matlock to check out the Wetherspoons that had been suggested. There would be a problem with the parking. No attached carpark and it doesn't open until 9. However there is a greater choice of menu for those who don't want the full monty. Not particularly cheap if you do though. ![]() ![]() Personally, we shall be having the G&C brekkie but that's because we tend to be up early anyway. Not sure how the Wetherspoons will fit into Binky's timimgs. Thoughts and comments please ![]() |

What we liked also about the G+C was that you could help yourself to the juice, cereal and fresh fruit as much as you liked, apparently.

Grouse and Claret sounds like a no brainer to me then. If we say ride starts at 10.00, leaving from the bunkhouse, that'll give bods plenty of time to head out and get breakfast or do as they please...
![]() Looking forward to this now... ...i love bacon.
