Default Calling all Street Triple owners

For all of those who have one/had one, can you share your thoughts on ownership for me? I've got a test impending on one and I'm worried it'll lead to selling mine, and starting a whole new money pit again!? Your thoughts please!

Nah Street triple is more fun than the Speed.

Fo all your information go to www.street-triple.co.uk

You really should just go and test ride one, but i guarantee you will love it and end up buying one!

really , rode both of them, came away without either, being critical; it's no speed triple, and the Speed four handles better.

not a bad bike by any means and one to stand out from the pack, so to speak, I was seriously considering one next.

Cheers Mark

Yes, if you like peaky revvy engines...
The speed triple (and as Rictus said the four) just have a bit more usable torque and I found the street felt a little too much like a CG to me. Over bumpy roads the speed triple just felt a whole heap better.

But, at the end of the day it is your choice. And if you are considering it, I would try and get back-to-back rides on both the street and the speed. And make them good long rides covering all the types of riding you will be doing.

ps. Not trying to teach you to suck eggs mate. Just my opinion.
I test rode both then ended up buying the Sprint ST

speed or street? depends on what your gonna use it for

i originally wanted a speed, but im mainly a twisties kinda guy and the street is quicker round a track so made sense.

the street has a stonking motor that sounds sweet as fook and after the SV handles like a charm too

tho the speed is slightly better looking i dont regret for one second going for the street in the end as i found the speed bulky and slow handling wise and the power delivery although there, didnt satisfy like the street. gotta get the revs up then you will smile till ya cheeks hurt. (especially with the right cans) it loves to be revved hard and begs for it.....and being a major understressed lump (de-tuned daytona) in there you dont feel bad giving it the beanz

My experience is the opposite of Amps there, but tinged by bias. I dropped my speed in for a service last week, ans the dealer lent me their standard street (not R) for the day.

Back to back, I preferred the speed because it had more of a presence in my head... neither has particularly loud pipes, but the street hardly makes a sound until you get a fair few revs on. Its also physically smaller, as I had no problems getting my feet down at a standstill.

On the move though, the speed wins for being more usable - the extra cubes mean you can be really lazy about which gear you're in. At peak, it is a little more powerful. The main difference is with the brakes though. The standard street doesn't have radial brakes, so they feel a lot different in use.

I tested the speed triple and didn't think much of it, I don't like the handle bars.

Street triple never tried but both are supposed to be crap for pillions, correct me if I'm wrong.
