Default Servicing

My bike's done 6,500 (ish) miles and is due a service - schedule is a bit out of sync due to previous owner not riding it much in 3 years!. Guessing it might as well have the 7,500 mile service carryed out on it, so... can anyone give me any ideas on what this should be costing me?

And can you recommend anywhere to have it done?

If the service should only take a couple of hours then I have no objections to riding however far (i.e. doesn't have to be local to me) and then simply hanging around for the duration of it.

Oh and as long as the person knows what they're doing I don't care if it's someone working out of their garage at home or a large company. I just want it done to a high standard.

Ta all!

They wanted £170 from me... seemed a bit much but not sure on what it should cost really.

Cheers Claire, somehow missed that thread, will give him a ring tomorrow!

The only thing on there I might quibble with is changing the sparks. But if that is the 7500 miler, DIY has to be the way ahead! If you not confident doing that, there are plenty of orgers that will lend a hand. Here, have a hand.... (serious offer).
