This is aimed at the regular track day folks and curren't/ex racers?
How many meets, track days etc have you done? How many offs/spills have you had during your times out on track? Just curious really. On another note, does anyone on here ride a grey pointy, number 52? ![]()

Done about 12 Track Days/test days & 1 and a quarter races lol.
Crashed once, hence the quarter of a race

15 years or so of motocross and enduro, about 10 offs but none of them serious.
On the road, 2 in the last 11 months! |

I've done about 5 trackdays, about 150 races and had about 3 offs.

Golly, where do I start. Not counting all the off road spills in Enduro/Motocross or trials and just sticking with tarmac interface I had one huge off when I was doing 250 racing. Not bad considering I was in my third season on the bike but it was big enough to total the bike and put me out of action for a while. I then had loads of small tarmac spills during three years of Supermoto racing but again crashing was part of every meeting on them. Never managed to lob the big bike when racing, but then I wasn't very competitive on that either! Been very lucky with my road bike on track days. Managed a small spill on my TDR on a Performance Bikes Frenzy day (anybody else old enough to remember them?) and wrote a Fireblade off once at the Nurburgring, but fortunately, touch wood, in 23 years of riding I've never been off on the road.

indeed must be in the hundreds, but to qualify that, 3 years club racing, then tried just about anything bike related, so trials, grass tracking, scrambling, sand racing, ice racing, dragstrip, bike football, skills testing and a couple of road races and about 120-150 track days (although never had an off on one of those).
Cheers Mark.

25 or so trackdays, 2 race schools about to do my first club race in 2 weeks if I can get the bike ready in time = 2 offs (and both in the more recent trackdays)

I think you'll find racing and trackdays are worlds away from each other, theres a lot to be said for advice I was given many years ago,
"either race to win, or you're just there for the day out" "if everything is under control, you're not going fast enough" " you don't have to be the fastest, just make sure he doesn't get passed you" I'm sure there are many more, but those spring to mind. Cheers Mark.

I remember the PB frenzy at Knockhill (less crashing the further north the frenzies went apparently!) Hargreaves showing up folk on track on a purple Diversion. Saw a TDR with a RG500 engine. Hilarious speeds up the straight and flying past all sorts and with some style (ie none of that lying on the tank "I'm trying hard" pish) Always wanted one, but had already been invited to not use public roads. Know two folk who got there legs fecked after looping the things too. Bit of a derail, so maybe 8 trackdays round lil' diddy Knockhill and 1 lowside out the hairpin in the rain (I know, YAWN! but a rite of passage there).
