Dropped my bike this morning onto my Dads car (oops!). Didnt put it on its stand properly. Shut my garage, after a few seconds I here a massive bang... my heart dropped
![]() Anyway, theres only a dent in the tank as it rested on the car! Is it easy to repair? i.e is the fuel tank not attatched to the metal tank cover? Any suggestions? Will I be able to remove the tank and be able to reach the underneath of the dent to tap it out? Or are there things in the way? Ta Aran Last edited by Noble Ox; 13-09-09 at 10:20 PM. |

Can be filled/resprayed if its deep but might cost as much as a used tank- might be lucky if its small you can get a dent repairer to pop dent out from inside. Consider a tank cover/baglux - will cover the tank and useful for luggage/wallet/phone/maps etc

Just leave it as it is, gives the bike character, ask YC
![]() The tank he had before he used filler and painted over it, satin black of course, looked alright but then the aim was never to get it looking as new anyway ![]() |

A can of CO2 or a block of dry ice will shrink a dent out good as new if the paint hasn't been broken. There are plenty of how-to articles and you-tube demos out there.
