I came off my SV 650 earlier today and I've managed to snap the gear shift lever, made a mess of the near side bar end and scratched most of the lower near side fairing
![]() Can anyone recommend a good place to purchase replacement parts? I've found a replacement gear shifter on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=370250734896), is that a good price? Also, what is a reasonable price to have the lower fairing resprayed? The plastic itself seems OK, although I'll have to give the bike a thorough inspection tomorrow as I was too distraught to look at it properly today ![]() |

bloody hell buddy, sorry to hear that, as long as you are ok, the SV can be fixed.
Pretty sure eveyone here will help out. As for the Gear shift Lever, i had a slow motion drop with mine back in July. As the main body of the Lever was ok and it was mainly the fact the actauly toe peg had snapped off, i drilled through it and used a 'fixerpeg'. http://www.fixer-peg.co.uk/shop/cata...cement+pegs%26 or http://www.fixer-peg.co.uk/shop/cata...3Dfixer-peg%26 Some people think they are better than the original, others will say just to buy a new lever entirely. It depends on how much it is bent in too, i had to bring mine back out with a bit of heat, but theres not much play in them with out snapping them as they are cast metal. Not sure about the fairing and as for my bar end, i've just left it for the time being till i've got some cash Good luck!! |

where is the break? I broke just the cross piece on mine a couple of years ago. Drilled a hole and used a 8 or 10 mm screw with the original rubber sleeve. Lasted ever since. Looks ok too. I think I posted a pic of it on here at the time.

Cheers for the replies. Thankfully it was only at about 5-10mph, so I've just got a couple of bruises on my left leg where I fell. I may look at drilling through the peg as that snapped clean off, and the rest of the shifter looked ok.

Personally I'd look at a fixer peg. For £7 inc p&p (i think) then i'd get a fixer peg, the screw idea is fine if you don't **** it up. On my toe peg i couldn't get the rubber sleeve off so i just binned it, in fairness i didn't try very hard, but like you I was pretty distressed about dropping it.
Glad you are ok. |

I have to confess that I was p*d off about dropping the bike and I ordered a gear change lever from wemoto.. Still got the bloody thing as a spare in case I drop it again.. was a lot more that £16 though. But it does include ther linkage arm etc. |
