Default Quick question about SORN.

So basically, I had a motorcycle accident recently. Rider Support helping me get my dosh. Meanwhile, bike is in a £5000+ state of damages parked in my garage. I think my road tax ran out in August. Should I have SORN'ed it?

I've tried to find out what SORN exactly is, but still a bit confused!

Thanks

I had a similar thing with my car and was advised to SORN it until the insurance paid out. That way you cannot be fined for owning the vehicle without road tax.

Even if it is at the bike shop waiting for repair you still need to have it SORN'd but you can do this on line in just a couple of minutes.

yes you should get it sorn, even if it is not on the highway.
otherwise they will charge you back dated roadtax.

it just keeps them happy, knowing it's not on the road.

I'm suprised that you already haven't been fined if your tax ran out in August.
