Hi guys,
Did a thorough search, but understandably most answers were pm'd.... Basically my system 3's not recognising either fob. I've had it apart and 'respiked' it as per the website, but it's still not playing the game, and i can't go anywhere! Do i have to remove it completely or is there a way to just bypass it as i'm hopeless at all things electrical. ![]() Cheers in advance. ( I forgot how much i hate getting the train!! ![]() |

Datatools are not my favourite alarm..
By "Spike" do you mean removing the internal battery? The last one I saw had 4 torx security bolts holding the unit together and an internal battery needed removing. Jambo

Yep, done that mate. Apparantly you take it all out, leave it for at least 6hours to run down and then put it all back together once it's reset.
Needless to say it didn't work... thanks datatool... |

Wasnt there a thread fairly recently on how to rip the whole thing out?By far the best long term fix Id say.

Forgive me as this is only my first thread. But I have datatool fitted to my SV. When it was installed the guy told me about the way to bypass the system without the need to remove it or anything like that. From memory he said that when it was set up there is an ignition sequence that can be used to bypass the alarm by simply turning the ignition on and off with the correct sequence of beeps ect. Dont know if your system will have that bypass or not but figured may help you out if it does....

I think there is but you need a pin set when bought or possibly in the maunal (will check) but if the bike isn't responding to the fobs then doubt it.

Ye, the pin for mine was set up to what i wanted it to be when the alarm was installed. I think it is there as a backup if the fobs fail. Also, if you dont know the pin then its either written in the manual as Dave20046 said or it will be the datatool default which is probably something simple.

ye, just had a quick look on the datatool site and it says for the system 3 there is a pin override system on the alarm with a pin selected by the customer. So im gna guess that if you didnt get it set up when the alarm was installed it would be the factory default?
