Hey all.
Anyone running these tyres? I bought my sv about a year ago as my first bike. It had a Bridgestone BT021 on the back (relatively new), and a metzeler on the front (almost dead). I replaced the front with a matching BT021 september last year, and have only done approx 1k on it. The rear tyre is really squared off now, and was goinng to put another BT021 to match the front. However after reading alot of reviews, the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's get rave reviews, and am contemplating replacing both with these. Any feedback from "real" users would be greatly appreciated. I dont commute, just weekend fun. And if i do ride to work I go down nice twisty back roads. I really want to learn to get the bike over more and need a tyre I can have confidence in. Thanks for feedback. All is greatly appreciated. Richie K |

Pilot Road 2's are possibly what you want. Far better than the 021's but not as sporty as the Pilot Race. Storms get good reviews from lots of people on here as well.

I had a pair on my GSXR I quite liked them.
In the dry they are really good. The heat well and give decent feedback. The profile is quite round so they dont tip in to quickly and are stable once leaned over. They are the only tyre I felt confident in to completely remove the chicken strips from the rear tyre. In the wet I found them lacking in feedback. They also took a while to get up to temperature. Once up to temperature they were fine and had plenty of grip. Just sometimes I couldnt feel what grip was there and had to trust the tyre which was for me a little unnerving at times. Not tried them on an SV, but I cant image they'd behave any differently.

+1 on pilot road 2's is the michelin equivilant to the BT21's
On the SV i saw 13k on the front and about 8K to a rear.... all depends how you ride though... |

the Superduke came fitted with power 2ct's, never got on with them to be honest, take a lot to heat up, and a bit vague on the feedback front, whilst in theroy they should have been a better tyre than the Storm ultra's I replaced them with, not knowing how close to the edge they were ment I couldn't use them to the full, the current Storms are as I've previously experienced very communicative and allow me to push further with confidence.
In short; I don't do well with limited feedback and blind faith, but can see how some may like what is perceived as "solid & stable" rather than a more communicative "nervous" tyre. Cheers Mark.

Well, I found out today that Bridgestone have replaced the long suffering BT021 eith the new BT023. Apparantly better all round, and without the dodgy wear characteristics of the BT021.
So as it's got the same profile as my nearly new Front BT021 I have opted for one of these, Getting fitted tommorow evening for the sum of £122 fitted (not bad). I'll let you know how I get on. Richie K |

I should be getting my r6 back this week with some fitted.
So I'll post feedback once I know. I'll soon know if they are up to the standard ![]() |
